Scalp acupuncture often produces remarkable results in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions, including Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) typically with immediate improvements. Moxibustion involves the burning of the herb wormwood (artemisiae argyi) over acupuncture points.

It is one of the most efficient but most underused modalities in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). When dry wormwood is burned it produces not only deep heat but also releases essential oils. Moxa stick (4cm diameter and 8:1 ratio) over the acupuncture point GV20 in combination with pelvic health physiotherapy has proven to successfully treat pelvic organ prolapse.
